WHAT: We are thrilled to welcome Tracey Spurgin from Craftworx into The Shed to do a beginners Silver Clay workshop.
Beginners Silver Clay
This workshop is aimed at the beginner with little or no experience of working with metal clay. During the day you will be guided through the step by step techniques of handling, shaping, forming and adding texture, construction, firing options and achieveing a fabulous polish and finish. With these solid foundation skill and all the essential tips and techniques you will be amazed and you will have achieved a professional finish to your work. The course will aim for you to make three pieces that apply different techniques and products, all designed with the beginner in mind. You will complete them to proudly be wearing them home to show off to your friends and family.
You will be inspired with further samples on display so you can go away to apply your own creative ideas to your new skills.
Three projects include
· Moon or Star Gazing Hare Pendant
· Using Trash to Treasure
· Pillow Talk Bead
Included in the day:
20g of lump clay will be supplied, with use of the studio paste pot. For the suggested project tasks, If you require to make more or larger pieces then you can purchase extra clay on the day
Tracey Spurgin is a dedicated Metal Clay artist, tutor, writer and TV presenter.
when she is not busy teaching at her own studio Craftworx, based in East Yorkshire. she heads off on her magic carpet around the country or even traveling internationally to teach. "teaching metal clay is my passion I love to share my ideas for this amazing material so do that in as many ways as I can. so really looking forward to joing Sooz on her new adventure in the Shed.
Expert tuition and 20g of Silver clay are included in the price - enough to do the projects suggested, you can buy more clay on the day if you wish to make extra and you have time.
Please bing a packed lunch, or there are places nearby that you can buy something. Cakes and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
As Tracey is a visiting artist, we do have a minimum number of students required for this course to run, so please do get your place booked if you fancy it. If you wait, it might be too late :)

You can also opt to "Hold my place", we will then hold the place for one month for you - this payment is non-refundable if you decide not to proceed, if you do carry on to book then it will count towards your class payment.
